High Dezert Klezmer & Judaic Band presents: "Lotsa Light! Havdalah, Hanuka Concert & Dance Party!"
High Dezert Klezmer & Judaic Band presents: “Lotsa Light! Havdalah, Hanuka Concert & Dance Party!” Immediately following the beautiful Havdalah ceremony which will be accompanied by many instruments, the concert will include instrumental Jewish music from around the world as well as Hanukkah songs and folk songs in Yiddish, Ladino (Judeo-Espanyol) & Hebrew. The concert will segue into a Klezmer dance party.
Recording and performing professionally throughout the southwest since 1996, High Dezert Klezmer & Judaic Band (f.k.a. The Rebbe’s Orkestra) has been exploring the ways in which Jewish musicians have interacted with surrounding musical traditions over the centuries. From Spain to Iraq, Poland to the Mediterranean: High Dezert Klezmer Band plays tunes and songs as widely divergent as the geography and yet with surprisingly similar themes.
