2/14 Thursday 6:30pm-8:30pm: FREE VIDEO / MOVIE PRESENTATION & DISCUSSION with special guest artist Miamon Miller, composer for the 2012 production of "The Blackbirds of Białystok" performed and presented in that city by the Białystok, Poland puppet theater “Teatr Lalek” in collaboration with the Sandglass Theater of Putney, Vermont.

The play, authored and directed by Eric Bass, centers on three 20th century events that profoundly affected Jewish life in that city: a 1906 pogrom, ghetto existence during the nazi occupation and the ‘zionist’ purge initiated by the communist government in 1968.

Before the presentation Miamon will give an overview of the play, his working relationship with Eric Bass and the 3 weeks spent in Białystok rehearsing the musicians. The video is approximately 75 minutes which will afford time afterwards for questions and discussion.
