SONG SHEET AND PRAYERS
Poem
a la mañana dil lugar

Please join us as we celebrate Shabbat in the Sephardic tradition. Stephanie Sofie Shefia Cohen will lead us in song and prayer, joined by Hershel Weiss, one of the founding organizers. The evening includes an opportunity for everyone to share from their heart, and trilingual readings of Sephardic poetry, presented by writer, researcher, teacher and translator Héctor Contreras López. The next poet in our series is Clarisse Nicoïdski. We will be reading her poetry in Ladino, Spanish and English in July, August and September. Clarisse Nicoïdski was born in France into a family of Sephardic Jews from Sarajevo. She attended the Lyceum in Casablanca, Morocco and studied linguistics and English in Paris. She is considered by some the most important Sephardic poet of the 20th century.
