A joyous heimishe (homey) service in an old-country East European style created and led by Nahalat Shalom’s Cantor/ music director Beth Cohen. Held on the first Friday of the month, the danced service led by Rikud Dancers and Alavados Band begins at 6:30pm, and includes prayers for lighting the candles, Mishebeirach, Kaddish Yatom, Kiddush and HaMotzee. At 7:20pm there is a potluck vegetarian dinner followed by Birkat HaMazon. At 8pm Rikud leads Jewish folk dances to an OPEN JAM led by The Nahalat Shalom Community Klezmer Band.
