Nahalat Shalom’s Community Klezmer Band rehearses on most Sundays from 3-5pm. Rikud dancers often rehearse with the band and practice dancing to live Klezmer & Jewish folk music. This is the last “official” rehearsal of the Spring/Summer season so Alavados High Holy Days band can rehearse. The next Klezmer Band / Rikud rehearsal will be on Sept. 27th.

The Klezmer band & Rikud also host the monthly Freylekher Shabbes held on the first Friday of every month.

All ages and levels of musicians and singers are welcome in the band. You must know the basics of your instrument to play or sing in the band (no drums or percussion please). Sheet music and professional instruction is provided by Nahalat Shalom’s Cantor & music director Beth Cohen. If you do not read music, it is recommended that you record the rehearsals.

All ages and levels of dancers are always welcome: no pre-skills are needed.
