On the first three Sundays in June we will have workshops/workdays to Enjarre (re-plaster) our Adobe wall in order to preserve it so that it will be around for another 20+ years.
How can you be part of this?
We need volunteers to do the plastering. Our Shaman of Enjarre, Ian Daitz and the Ayudante Mayor, Andrew Stone, will be teaching us the traditional technique of Zarpeo (mud is slung at the wall) to accomplish the refurbishing of our wall. Please bring latex, nitrile or other chemical resistant gloves, as the masa (mud mixture) will have lime added for stability.
We need hospitality volunteers to coordinate the rest area with various snacks, water, sandwiches, sodas or selzer, etc.
We need folks to help with the cleanup at the end of the work day.
We would like to have a big wall dedication celebration when Rabbi Josie gets back, so we need some folks to help plan this event!
If you have any questions, please email Esteban - esteban@nahalatshalom.org
PS - THERE IS STILL TIME TO WRITE (ON A SMALL PIECE OF PAPER) A NAME OF A LOVED ONE, A WISH, A MEMORY, ETC. INTO THE CRACKS OF THE WALL BEFORE THE ENJARRE!
