Nahalat Shalom welcomes Rabbi Emerita Lynn Gottlieb who shares with us her special gift of story telling at three events this weekend:
Thursday, November 16, 4:30 - 6:00 pm, Cheder Religious Program:
Children of all ages are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Enrollment in our Cheder Religious School Program is not required for his enjoying afternoon or storytelling.
Friday, November 17, 6:30 pm: Sephardic Shabbat Dinner & Celebra tion.
Everyone is invited - you don't have to be Sephardic!
This service, which meets on the second Shabbat of the month, consciously explores the connections with our Sephardic Heritage. (Sefarad is the Hebrew word for Spain and Sephardic refers to those Jews who lived in Spain. were expelled, and who carried their language and their traditions with them wherever they went.) We share songs and stories, food and conversation. Please bring your favorite vegetarian dish to share at this potluck dinner. We gather at 6:30, with candle lighting promptly at 7:00 pm. Come celebrate New Mexico's oldest Jewish community with us! Hosted by Maria Apodaca, Stephanie Sofie Shefia Cohen, and Hershel Weiss.
Sunday, November 19, 10:00 - 11:30 am: Pre-K program
Children of all ages are welcome.
