Become a Member of Nahalat Shalom
Whether you have been a member of Nahalat Sahlom for many years, just off and on, or, perhaps, only for High Holidays, we value you as a member of our community.
Our congregation is maintained and its doors are kept open by its members. Although most of us grew up in different places and worshipped in very different synagogues, at Nahalat Shalom, with its diverse membership and heritages, we have been offered a spiritual home. Most of us have come to appreciate this opportunity to live our Judaism though worship, learning, joyful celebration music, and dance.
Whether you are a new or renewing member, we ask that you complete and return the enclosed membership form and pledge so we can update our records. Everyone is welcome at Nahalat Shalom - No one is ever turned away because of limited funds. We do not require tickets or membership at High Holidays, or any other time. We are a congregation where some can afford more, others pay less, and we all pitch in where we can. The Suggested Pledge Guide on the back of the membership form is only a suggestion. In reality, our Nahalat Shalom dues structure has always been “pay what you can”. We realize that many people have limited resources or are on a fixed income; we also know that income level does not always reflect financial burdens like student loans, aging parents, family obligations, or medical expenses. But please keep in mind that your pledge is needed to keep our doors open.
