Beyond the Torah:  Fridays from 11:45am-1pm, The Study

This group has been delving into the entire Bible, book by book.   Join in to  discern the literal, ethical and spiritual meaning of the great writings of our ancestors.  This self-led group relies on assorted commentary as well as personal sensibilities.  No ongoing commitment is required.  Join in every week or as the spirit moves you.  See why participants love Torah Study by clicking here.

Four Radical Prophets: Hosea, Amos, Jonah and Zachariah with Rabbi Paul Citron:  Wednesdays (October 18 and 25, November 1 and 8), 5:30-7:00 pm, The Study

Enchanted Circle Chanting with Rabbi Shefa Gold:  Second Wednesday of the month, 7:30 pm, Bayt B'racha

ChantinShefaGoldg, the repetition of a sacred phrase, is an ecstatic form of meditation that can open the doors of the heart, clear the mind of clutter, focus and refine intentions, and connect us to each other. In this evening of chant we will taste and experience the power and potential of this ecstatic practice. Donations will be appreciated.  Visit Rabbi Shefa Gold's website

Planetary Judaism with Rabbi Miles Krassen:  First and Third Sundays of the month, 2:30 - 4:30 pm, Bayt B'racha

MilesKrassenThis ongoing series of talks, updating the teachings of Hasidism and Kabbalah, explores ways in which Torah can support an emerging vision of planetary consciousness. The Torah of the Future is the Torah of the Whole Earth that reveals the inherent holiness and essential interconnectedness of all people and of the Earth itself and all that she contains. “The Whole Earth is full of Your Glory.” (Isaiah 6:3).

Rabbi Krassen is a former Professor of Contemplative Judaism at Naropa University and is the author of significant works on Kabbalah and Hassidism.  Your generous donations pay for these classes.  Visit Rabbi Miles Krassen's website

Learn to Read Trop taught by Cantor Beth Cohen

Trop (cantillation) is the melody of scriptural readings or its notation; it conveys meaning and emotion, helps you to learn the reading, makes it easier to hear and more enjoyable to listen to. If you have even a rudimentary knowledge of Hebrew, this is a great opportunity to learn to chant, and to have the marvelous experience of reading from the Torah at a Minyan and, perhaps, on the High Holy Days. For more information and to help decide on dates and time, please call Glorya Hale, 507-0186. Members: $50. Non-members: $65. Four Sessions--Dates and time to be decided.
