Welcome to a magical evening of Sephardic poetry, prayer and song in the beautiful courtyard of Nahalat Shalom. Break bread with us and share in our circle.

Bring a vegetarian potluck dish to share, and enjoy the company, the prayers, the poetry and the singing.

This month we will be reading a fragment of the poem Os ratos da Inquicisão (The Rats of the Inquisition) by Portuguese poet António Serrão de Castro. He wrote this amazing poem during his ten year imprisonment by the Inquisition in a Portugal cell. We will read the poem in the original Portuguese, as well as the Spanish and English translations by Héctor Contreras López.
