Zoom ID: 282 164 4305 (no password required)
POEM:
The Grave of the Slave

Come sing and pray and enjoy the poetry with us in the orchard! Prayers are in Ladino and Hebrew and led by Sofie Shefia Stephanie Cohen. This month we begin a series on African American poets, translated into Spanish by Héctor Contreras López. We will read "The Grave of the Slave", by Sarah Louisa Forten, a well-known abolitionist, who founded the Philadelphia Female Anti-Slavery Society in 1833. Be prepared to share your response to this beautiful poem which will be read out loud in English and Spanish. If you are able, please show up early to help set up. And bring a vegetarian dish to share!
